Earthshakes (quakes), Sunshine & Giveaways.....

This morning...just minutes after 4 am we were awakened by a strong, HARD & loud jolt to our home, I actually thought either a car hit our house or the 3 story tree on the side of it had come crashing into out home....Thank goodness it was neither....like so many of you out here in So Cal, we were awakened by an earth quake or as my kids always call them...Earth shakes :) The epicenter was about 5 miles or less from us, so we felt it pretty strong...nothing broken or no new cracks that we can see, but then again, our 1916 home seems to be pretty solid :) I did jam my knee hurrying down the stairs though...theres alot to be said for not having a few extra minutes to let your achy joints get ready for the day and a quick jog down the stairs lol

But all that being said...

I did want to thank everyone for their wonderful comments and emails :) I am coming back with some new posts, but I did warn you guys I would need a vacation after SOOO many posts in such a short time...ha!!

Actually...I took a lil break for the week, March 14th was the 1 year anniversary of my dads passing and I needed to focus on my family...and well to be honest me....the colds that I had been getting and the gloomy weather were kicken my butt both physically & emotionally...I can't tell you how amazing a B12 shot can be lol So every 3 weeks or so for 3 months, I will be getting one to replenish what I am missing...but the best medicine....besides all your caring visits :) Has been SUNSHINE......truly, it feels sooo good, I stand outside and literally let the sunshine warm my face...it warms me from my eye lids thru my heart and down to my toes :) Infact I am about to paint my toes hot pink in hopes that I will stay in this feeling for awhile longer :) I know so many of you are having such terrible weather, I wish I could send you all, our So. Cali sunshine, well....not all of it...but definately some to warm you and make you smile too! :) You know, our beautiful weather is a trade off for our earthquakes, you.... that get tornados, hurricanes and tons of snow, know what I mean....

Now I want to share some amazing giveaways with you all...
Please visit all these lovely blogs and enter to win...I know you will love them too...I will be back tomorrow to share some beautiful mail love I have received....cause you know,I don't want to start posting a ton and then have to take another vacation lol Seriously, have a beautiful day, and if it is full of snow and rain, look for that lil bit of sun shine I am sending your way!

Stefanie of Rose Petals and Rust is having a giveaway here!

My sweet & dear friend...Rebecca Ersfeld for Vintage Living is having a giveaway here!

Linda of Robin's Egg Blues is having a giveaway here!

So glad all is well after the earthshake, but I have been telling my hubby that we need to get ready. The 'we' being California. With all the earthquakes happening around us I believe we are in for some shaking too. There already been some way up North near Eureka and Redding...but I do think it would be wise if we had a stock pile of water, non-perishable food, lighters/matches, candles, etc. I think we will make sure we have alot of propane for our coleman camping stove. You just never know. It doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Hi sweet Rose
Thank you for all the love that you always leave. I did not realize that you are in Los Angeles County, we should plan to meet up with Ana, that would be such fun and a terrific blessing.
Have a wonderful week and I am praying that you feel well and back to your lovely self in no time.

Good morning, Rose! So glad I found your lovely blog this morning!

I woke up that way once--the morning of the Northridge earthquake--we were moving to central California later in the week. I haven't felt one that strong since--thank heavens! They really do wake you up, don't they?!

I'll be back often to say hello--hope the aftershocks are gentle today!

I live in Laguna Hills and felt it but only very slightly. My mom lives in Whittier so I went through the big Whittier one in the late 80's...it was very scary!!! They always say it gets hot and humid when ones coming.

Hi Rose. Oh how scary to be part of an earthquake! I would have freaked! I can just picture myself running back and forth. I'm so glad you guys are ok. Please stay safe. HUGS

Hi sweetie, I heard about your quake on the news. That has to be a rude way to be woke up!
Rose you are so right about the b12, because it has only been a couple of weeks since I got mine and after four months of going without I am starting to feel a little more energy coming back and some of the other symptoms of the anemia are subsiding too. I won't ever let myself get too busy for them again.
I hope you had a great St. Patty's day!

Wow that would be scary. We don't get many earthquakes here, but we had a few tremors and once the china cupboard shook and rattled and it scared the you-know-what out of me. I can't imagine how it would have been for you!!!!
Great to see you back again :)

Hi Rose
I am so sorry I had to rush off
the phone yesterday! I am such a poor time keeper, I tend to be in this timeless world, and I lose track of it so easily. I ended up rescheduling the hair appt because it was so late...you would think by now I would know how to keep time! Anyway it was so nice visiting with you!
Blessings to you today

Hi Sweet Rose,

Wasn't it scary? With all the earthquakes worldwide my first thought when I felt it was, "Is this the big one?" Luckily it was minor and all is well.

Oh friend...I know how you're feeling about your dad, I lost my dad three years ago on April 1st. Not a day goes by that I don't miss and think of him. I hope you hold onto the hope that someday we all will be together again. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hope you are well Sweet Friend*´¨)

Hi Rose!

Geez, so glad to hear that you guys are okay! I'm a sound catnapper, but I do believe that would have woke even ME up and got me running!

Sorry to hear about the challenges with you being under the weather - soak up some sun and be kind to yourself. You deserve it and I'm sure it will help! Go on now, find you a warm place in the sun and take a catnap....
